The ChesBay Sailing School teaches sailing and cruising on the student's own boat. Most of the school's sailing instruction is on the Chesapeake Bay or the Potomac River, but your sailing coach will travel throughout the Maryland, Virginia, and the DC metro area to wherever your boat is located.
ChesBay Sailing School's captain, Walt Wood, is here to help if you have ever asked "Isn't there a sailing instructor who will help me or my spouse or children get better at sailing or be more comfortable using our own boat?"
Walt develops customized courses or shorter sessions to meet your specific needs. He coaches students of all ages and all sailing abilities from beginners to more advanced sailors.

Walt is an American Sailing Association instructor and U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain with more than a decade of experience teaching sailing. His appraoch is comfortable, relaxed, and always with an eye to safety.
